Les Jazz Impressions du pianiste Hervé Sellin se devaient, pour ce troisième album du nom, de rendre hommage à la musique si singulière, iconoclaste et anticonformiste d’Erik Satie. À travers tant d’œuvres inspirantes, le pianiste recompose et propose, en solo mais aussi en leader de trios improbables, conviant à l’aventure de jeunes musiciens improvisateurs talentueux, une musique inattendue et bien singulière dans la digne lignée de celui que l’on avait surnommé « le maître d’Arcueil ».

The Jazz Impressions of pianist Hervé Sellin, for this third album of the series, had to pay tribute to the singular, iconoclastic, and nonconformist music of Erik Satie. Through so many inspiring works, the pianist reinterprets and reimagines, both as a soloist and as the leader of unlikely trios, inviting talented young improvising musicians to join the adventure. The result is an unexpected and highly distinctive music, in the proud tradition of the man once called the “maître d’Arcueil”.
